Build or Die / Foam Home
Emergency sheltering, DesignMai Workshop Berlin 2006

In collaboration with: Antonia Pehrson, Maria Johansson, Susanna Löfgren

Many refugee camps are struggling with the complex process of providing durable solutions for living in extreme climate. For less than 200 US$ per shelter, the Foam Home could provide immediate housing for sleeping in High-Low temperature zones where a tent wouldn’t be life sustainable. The polyurethane shelter can be taken apart and later on be used as insulation in the building of a real house. For organizational aid, a flag system could offer a way to quickly create a temporary signalization and help refugees to find each other, work and share knowledge.
