CRAFTWORKS BY CLARA LINDSTEN
Photo: Erik Wåhlström

A blend of traditional craft and modern design process, experiments with
production techniquies and re-interpretations of classical shapes
have emerged into a collection of furniture, created in sustainable manners
and made by craftsmen in two opposite parts of the world

It is the outcome of frequent trips to Vietnam, where Clara collaborates with
VINH LONG JTC, which is a natural fiber company situated in the Mekong
delta, two hours from Saigon.

A parallell research into Swedish craft - such as the blacksmith
Thomas Ivan Hydling, who restores and produce metal art in his atalier,
beautifully positioned with sea view at Långholmen
or the family company KREBS who makes crystal chandeliers in Stockholm
since 1954.

Inspired by dreams of distant places,
CRAFTWORKS combines exotic with familiar
and carries a story of value, transparancy
and beautiful raw materials.

The collection was presented at Greenhouse, Stockholm furniture fair 7-11 february 2012
