Clara Lindsten
Industrial designer, Swedish nationality, Born 1983
Clara Lindsten is is currently based in Stockholm after spending one year
in Vietnam,
where she worked closely with skilled craftsmen, experimenting with traditional
methods and natural materials.
She went there to work on a project for WWF with the objective to strengthen the
design capacity of the rattan
sector in Vietnam. She provided training for local companies and new designs for
more sustainable rattan products.
The WWF project was followed by another 6 months in Vietnam, this time for a UN
and with the goal to use
design for increasing income and employment opportunities for the rural poor.
She developed design collections
within different fields of handicraft.
After her MA education at the Industrial design department at Lund University,
Clara went to Paris where she
became a part of the avant-garde art and fashion collective Andrea Crews and
worked with styling, product design
and interior design for clients such as Colette, Smart Car and the fashion fair
Prêt á Porter Paris.
During her education, she benefited from one year of exchange at the design
academy Eindhoven and
an internship at conceptual 5.5 Designers in Paris.
